Serving all communities in Durham, Orange and Wake counties, we are proud of our efforts to reduce the amount of items that enter the landfills. Most exciting is our partnership with the Assistance League Triangle Area (ALTA) a non-profit organization that resells donated items in their thrift store and distributes the proceeds to women in crisis and several other philanthropic projects in our area. Best of all, we can give our customers tax donation receipts for acceptable items donated to ALTA while we are on site. It’s that easy!!

I am Tim McSwiney, Co-Owner and Operator of the Raleigh franchise for CHHJ. I am newly married and I currently have no children, although I look forward to being a father in the future. (Cheap Labor) I attended East Carolina University where I majored in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, an education that would later serve me well with CHHJ.

Prior to my joining the CHHJ team I held post as the Director of Business Development for the worldwide distributor of a NC powerboat manufacturer. Working to increase exports I traveled around the world and met many interesting people along the way. Looking to stay in one place for awhile I was pleased when approached by some friends to join forces in a bid towards achieving the American dream. Enter College Hunks Hauling Junk. We began our quest for the “mother load” in February of 2008 and have helped several hundred homes and businesses in the RDU area since then.
